Myrna Youngman Charbonneau, 94, passed away on March 5th, 2025 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, MT.
She was born in Poplar, MT on October 20th, 1930 to Louis and Mary (Eagleman) Youngman. She was baptized to the Catholic Church on December 25th, 1930 at just two months old, in which she proudly held and practiced her faith throughout her life. She attended school in Portland Oregon, graduating from Immaculate Academy (Portland, OR) in 1949, after which she attended NAES/Fort Peck Community College in Poplar. Throughout her years of work, she worked various jobs. While in Reno, Nevada she worked at the United States Post Office before returning to Poplar.
After returning home she worked for the Fort Peck Tribal Head Start program as Assistant Director and Health Coordinator, Director of the Tribal Elders program, Administrative Secretary for West Electronics. She also worked at the Tribal Voc Rehab program as Transition Coordinator. Myrna volunteered many years as a board member for West Electronics, Fort Peck Sioux Council as Secretary, Fort Peck Tirbal Museum and served on the Montana State Board of Tribal Elders. Myrna was also a certified home health aide and worked at Poplar Community Hospital, where she also volunteered for the ambulance service with her sister Faye.
After retiring after many years of working she enjoyed her time spent at her home in Poplar where she was able to spend time with her close family including her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She loved having visitors, she was an avid reader and loved her daily crosswords.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Mary and Louis, siblings; Velma Keever, Janet Spencer, Lewis Youngman, Warren Youngman, Arlene “Faye” Peterson, and Agnes Turnbull, daughter; Gail Charboneau-Dupree, grandchildren; Rosebud Dupree, Dustin Martin, Bronson Charboneau, Mary Charboneau, her cousin, Charles “Chuck” Eagleman, whom she remained close with throughout the years until his passing in 2023, and her dear friend Ruby Clark, as well as numerous relatives.
Surviving family include her sons Craig and Jon Charboneau; her daughters Debra Bruner, Michelle Trottier, Jeanette Charboneau, Marci Charbonneau, Darci Martin, and Marguerite Charboneau, as well as her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Relatives include the Youngman and Eagleman families. We apologize if there were names omitted, it was not intentional.
