Orla Jean Longee, age 48, of Poplar, MT passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Poplar Hospital. Orla, was the daughter of Alfred Carroll Longee and Charity Jones Longee. She was born on March 23, 1968 in Poplar, MT. Orla Longee attended Headstart in Poplar, MT. She then moved to Harlem in 1980 for 5 years. Orla, later attended Flandreau, SD, her favorite subject was math. She did 9 th and 10 th grade. She then went to Harlem to attended High School and participated in track and cross country.
Orla, later on then met Elgin Johnson in Fort Belknap in 1981, then had two boys, Jeremy Longee and Jesse Johnson. Orla, was a homemaker and enjoyed listening to music, fishing, cooking, doing puzzles. She loved being around family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
She survived by her children, Jeremy W. Longee, Jesse Johnson, Arthur R. Cantrell Jr., Betty M. Cantrell, Ryan J. Cantrell, Chenell R. Cantrell, all from Poplar; sisters, Diana Rose (Terry) Two Hearts, Patricia A. Dubray and children of Minot, ND, and Sherlene (Gleed) of Frazer; aunts, Mary Rose (Dave) Kholman of Williston, ND, Hazel E. Longee of Omaha NE, Mildred Longee and family of Poplar, Verlynn Longee and family of Wapato, WA, ; uncles, Medford Jones and family of Dodson, MT, Warren “Todd” Jones and family of Frazer, Faron Jones and Elton Jones both of Poplar, and Clifford Jones of Wolf Point.
Orla, is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Carroll Longee and Charity Longee; one brother, Milton D. Longee; paternal grandparents, Elise Lone and William Longee; Uncle Joe Jones of Oswego, MT (Melda Gone of Poplar) maternal grandparents, Catherine and Stephan Jones Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to mention.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Friday, December 16 at the Poplar Cultural Center. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
