Patricia Coleen Bird “Blue Feather Woman “Wyága To Wiya” left to be with Our Creator and her loving Mother, Pearl Jackson-Bird and Father, Harry Sidney Bird on July 3 rd , 2017. Patti was born on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation of Montana on May 10 th , 1953. She was the one and only child born to her loving proud parents. They were always seen together at their home in Frazer or at the many Pow-Wow’s of the reservations of Montana and all over the United States.

Her family of three owned and operated the prestigious Blue Feather Indian Store in Wolf Point, they also had a mobile Pow-wow stand that travelled and offered many traditional Native American art work such as beadwork, dancing regalia, shawls (which was Cousin Patti’s specialty), many Native American items, etc. They were astute successful business proprietors. She was a loyal and outstanding employee for the Ft. Peck Tribes for many years. She was an implemental and exemplary devoted employee of the Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board. She loved her fur babies, Jack, Penny, Sweet Lady, Fat Cat, Baby Cat. She was Godmother to her nephew Cole Derae Toce’s daughter, Kailaini Rain.

Patti graduated from Lawrence Kansas High School in 1971. She furthered here education at Haskell Indian Junior College with an Associates of Arts Degree. She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Kansas (KU). She worked for the Frazer School for several years. She was a loyal, outstanding, resolution executive secretary and devoted her hard work ethics and honesty to the Fort Peck tribes for nearly 30 years. She will truly be loved and missed forever by loving family and friends. She accomplished many dreams in her lifetime and was world renowned as a Women’s Traditional Dancer, Miss Indian America, Oil Discovery Princess, Miss Haskell

Patricia was survived by Aunties, Cheryl “Bobbi” Jackson-Doney, Rosalie “Rosie” Smoker, Sharlene “Sherri” Beston (Joe Beston), Susan LaRoque, Roxy McDonald. Also by Karen Browning, who she thought of as a sister.

She is proceeded in death by her Mother and Father, Pearl Jackson-Bird, and Harry Sidney Bird; Maternal Grandparents Wilson and Josephine Jackson; Uncles; Manard Jackson Sr., Darrel Jackson Sr. Aunties; Marylyn “Jeri” Jackson-Steele, Farrel Jackson-Straus, and Merle Jackson-Clampitt.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at the Community Hall in Frazer. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 10 at the Community Hall in Frazer. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
