Patricia Lee (Mury) Thorgaard, age 70, of Circle, MT, died tragically in a vehicle accident while driving her school bus on September 8. 2010.
She was born on March 17, 1940 in Jordan, MT to John and Esther (Cox) Mury. Pat was the youngest of 6 children and grew up on the family ranch near Brusett, MT. She fondly remembered her years as a farm girl as she helped her family raise Black Angus cattle.
Pat married Melvin Mart and was blessed with Troy and Tammie Mart. Pat married Herb Guldborg and was blessed with Nancy and Mury Guldborg. She married the love of her life, Dale Thorgaard, which brought her Dale’s girls, Jean, Jeri, Jessica and Jodi Thorgaard.
Pat worked at many businesses in the Brockway/Circle area to include Larson’s True Value, Schmidt’s Supervalu and as a farm wife. She was working at the McCone County Critical Access Hospital and as a school bus driver for Hinther Transportation at the time of her death.
Pat was proudly called “Favorite” Aunt Pat, Ma Pat, Moppet and Grandma Pat during different phases of her life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting with the Circle of Friends Quilters Guild. Pat always had a book with her, but her favorite activity was being a Mother, not only to her own children, but to others who would let her. She loved being a “Favorite” Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Pat is survived by sisters, Betty Mart of Neola, UT, Phyllis Fink, of Hartsel, CO, and Evelyn and Ed Ritter of Jordan; children, Tammie Mart of Victor, MT, Nancy (Guldborg) and Alan Stempel of Brockway, MT; Mury and Dora Guldborg of Laurel, MT; Jean (Thorgaard) and Shawn Fluss; Jeri Thorgaard: Jessica Thorgaard and Will Tran and Jodi Thorgaard and Ernest Strawhun; grandchildren, Ely and Riley Whitlock, Tim Huggins, Drew and Dylan Guldborg, Keeley and Remy Stempel, Alexis, Andraya, and Daylon Fluss, Annabelle Thorgaard, Chelsea Tran, and Summer Strawhun.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Dale J Thorgaard; son, Troy Mart; nephews, J.D. Fink and Gordon Mart; and her brother Arnold Mury.
A Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, September 13 at the Circle Evangelical Church in Circle with Pastor Butch Hart officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Circle. Lunch will served be served at the Evangelical Church following interment. Memorial funds may be donated to the Redwater Valley Ambulance Service or the George McCone Memorial County Library Endowment Fund.
