Patricia Stump

November 2, 1946 — February 8, 2013

On Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:40 p.m., Patricia Ann “Patty” Stump, age 66, of Oswego, MT, made her departure from this world, tears fell from her closed eyes only after she opened them one more time to see that her loved ones were going to be ok.  She went to enjoy her everlasting life and restored youthfulness with the Lord in Heaven. She is finally free from the pain and suffering she endured after many years of struggling from serious health issues.

Patricia came into this world on November 2, 1946 to Gladys and Joseph Jackson in Wolf Point, MT. She then grew up in Oswego along with 5 sisters. She graduated from Wolf Point high school in 1964. Patty then went to Northern MT College in Havre, MT for 1 year. In 1965, she decided to join the Army where she served 4 years and received an Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant (E5).

Patty then met and married the love of her life, Pete Stump. Together they raised two sons, Mike and Steve. Patty went back to school in Bozeman where she earned her Master Degree. Patty and Pete loved to travel to Rodeos all over. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing as much as possible with them, especially with her grandchildren. She gave them the so much, as she was always making sure they were well taken care of and gave them whatever they needed even if they didn’t need it. She especially enjoyed traveling to her grandson Petey’s basketball games. She was his #1 FAN and never missed a game.

We lost a great and respectable woman whose strong spirit will remain in our hearts until we are united again. Patty said “Don’t Cry when I’m gone, be glad I’m in a better place where I will be happy with no more sickness and pain. Be good to each other don’t fight, just get along.” She worried about Pete and made sure to remind her granddaughter, Donell, to take good care of her grandpa, being reassured and at peace.

Patty is survived by her husband of 44 years Peter L. Stump of Oswego; two sons, Mike (Pearl) Stump of Wolf Point, MT and Steve (Connie) Stump of Williston, ND; four grandchildren, Donell, Petey, Steve, Jr., and Kristin Stump; three great grandchildren, Baby D, Aubrey Petey, Jr. and De’mon; five sisters, Davey Jean (John) Steward of Crow Agency, MT, Cleo (Larry) Hamilton of Poplar, MT, JoEllen (Dale) Grandchamp of Oswego, Darla (Tom) Payne, and Lynn Campbell both of Wolf Point, MT; special long-time friend, Roberta Archdale; two adopted brothers, Rusty Stafne and Rick Kirn; adopted sister, Mary Helen; and numerous relatives across the reservation.
