Rachel E. Walter of Prairie Elk Colony passed away peacefully on January 7, 2014 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her family.
Funeral services are Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Prairie Elk Colony with burial at the Prairie Elk Cemetery.
She was born on March 28, 1943 at King Ranch Colony. Rachel was 20 years old in 1963 when they moved to Stanford, MT. There she helped to homestead Surprise Creek Colony. She was a tireless worker always there to lend a helping hand. She always told us she helped to raise all of us, a great truth spoken.
Rachel had the most beautiful flowers. Anything she touched with her green thumb blossomed. In 2006, she moved to Prairie Elk Colony where she resided until her passing.
Rachel will be missed greatly by her beloved sister, Mary, who took such great care of her; brothers, Eli (Ann), Darius (Annie), Ben (Rachel), Paul (Rachel), Joe (Annie) and David (Susanna) of Prairie Elk Colony; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minister Elias and Susie; brother, Leonard; aunt, Mary and other uncles and aunts.
We wish to thank all who helped take care of Rachel, for the love and support they give.
Ach das mein Herz einaltar wär
Voll Raűchwerk des Gebets
O Das ich Dank, Lob, Preis, und Ehr
Dem Lamm darbrächte stets
Den treuen werten Gottestamm
Der mich von emgen Leid
Mit bittrem weg am Kreuzes stamm
Erbarmuns voll befreit
