Reuben Duane Black Dog, of Poplar, Montana died September 1, 2012. Reuben was born to Duane Black Dog and Wilma Longee February 3, 1979 in Culbertson, Montana.
Reuben attended school in Poplar until going to Wahpeton Indian School for a while. When he returned to Poplar, he attended Poplar High School, where he met his future wife, Amber Rose Wienberger.
Reuben had a passion for body building and staying fit. He was a perfectionist at everything he did. He was very dedicated to his wife and children, as well as to his job at Tande’s Grocery where he had worked for 15 years. He also worked at TJ’s in Poplar.
Reuben always had a smile and was quite the jokester. He loved making people laugh. He was outgoing, comical, well liked, and well- loved.
Reuben was survived by his wife- Amber Black Dog of Poplar; his daughters- Danita, Danyell, Deah, Doreen, and Dassani Black Dog of Poplar; his son- Reuben Black Dog, Jr. of Poplar; his adopted mother- Georgia Gibbs Atkinson of Poplar; his sisters- Candice Black Dog, Charla Crazy Bull, and Carly Crazy Bull; his brothers- Troy Black Dog, Alex Crazy Bull, and Aric Crazy Bull; his father- Duane Alvin Black Dog; his mother- Wilma Longee; his grandmother- Rose Kollmen; and his mother-in-law- Doreen Ferguson.
Reuben was preceded in death by his parental grandparents- Robert and Cecelia Black Dog, his maternal grandfathers- Domingo Juarez and Allen Lester; his uncles- Alberto Juarez, Isaac Black Dog; his aunt- Evelynn counter, his step-father- Charles Crazy Bull; his step-sister- Brandee Crazy Bull; his cousin April Follette; and his nephew- Angeloo Cooeyate.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 11 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery in Poplar.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements
