Richard John Young

November 20, 1949 — September 28, 2020

Richard John Young was called home to be with the lord on September 28, 2020.  He was born on November 20, 1949 to Effie (Cloud) Two Bulls and Earl Jones, Sr.

Richard attended school in both Poplar and Brockton. He graduated from Lake Henry High School in Colorado in 1969.

On August 25, 1972 he married his soulmate Eliza (DeCoteau) Young.  From that union of 48 years they had four children.

In 1972 Richard moved to Billings, MT to attend College at Billings Technical School and graduated in 1975 with an automotive mechanic certificate.

Richard worked several jobs including the State Road Department, HIP and in June of 1977 he became a loyal worker for the Fort Peck Tribes up until his passing.  He dedicated 43 years to Enterprise and enjoyed working with his coworkers who became good friends.

Richard liked to hunt, fish, play pool and listen to music (60’s era).  He loved to read, especially his newspaper.  He also loved to watch his sports especially when any of his family was involved and tried his hardest not to miss.  He adored his children/grandchildren very much and was enormously proud of them.  He was a hard-working man and made sure his family was well cared for.  Always willing to help if you needed it and enjoyed a good joke with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Eliza (DeCoteau) Young; his sons Richard RJ (Chandra) Young, Emerson (Norma) Young and Lester (Christy) Young; his daughter Elise (Tyson) Young; his sister Velam Nepstad, Naomie Young, Juanita (Doug) Youngman, Doreen (Willie) Martell and Dorsey Young; brothers-in-law Elmer (Kristy) DeCoteau, Jimmy (Nadine) DeCoteau and Charles DeCoteau; sisters-in-law Birdy (Hawk), Chrystal DeCoteau; grandchildren Lundsey, Logan, Landon and Lukas Young, Qiuntana and Eliana Young, Eden, Tenley and Tatum Bauer, Greysen, Harper, and Emerly Young and numerous family, Rattling Thunders, Youpees, Black Dogs, Red Boys, Little Heads, Campbells, Nepstads, Crows, Boyds, and his friends at Enterprise, sorry if we left anyone out.
