Robert Kluth passed away in the early morning of April 6 th surrounded by his entire family. Bob fought a good fight and was strong to the very end.
Robert Everett Kluth was born in Wolf Point on January 20, 1936 the youngest of five children born to William and Edna (Kuester) Kluth. He grew up on the family farm in Vida. The only time he ever lived anywhere else was during his three year military enlistment. Bob served overseas in the army and spoke often of his experiences. He was proud of his service to his country.
Bob married Betty Remley on June 27, 1961. They were blessed with six children who he was very proud of. Bob’s joy was his children, and later his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob loved his family and enjoyed fishing, riding horses, brandings, elk hunting, western movies, and rodeos. He loved big family gatherings and getting together as often as possible. There were many trips to the lake and 4 th of July parties. Fishing trips always included extended family and friends. There were always extra kids. When you have six kids of your own, what’s a few more!
Bob’s favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. He loved playing pinochle. There were lots of card parties over the years. The annual New Year’s Eve card party was an event he always looked forward to.
Bob had numerous occupations. Over the years he was a truck driver, carpenter, worked for McCone County and also served as a commissioner for McCone County. Bob also served as a school board member for the Circle Schools. No matter where he was employed, he was always a farmer and rancher first. He instilled good work ethics in all of his kids and when they left home they all knew what an honest day’s work was.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Harold, Jack, Dorothy, Don, and Grandson Brandon.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, his children and their children; Brent & Darla Kluth, Kendra and Rachelle; Brenda & Neil Johnson, Eric, David, Braden, and Darbi; Dustin & Sherry Kluth and Justice; Darcy & Dusty Sturm, Jessica and Porter; Rajeana & Don Larson, Amanda, Kareena, and Corbyn; Perry & Pauletta Kluth, Shelby and Sydney. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Wolf Point at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at the Vida Cemetery.
