Robert Stephen Garfield was born February 13, 1987, to Harold Paul Garfield and Kathleen Aylene Ozborne, in Wolf Point Montana. He was an enrolled tribal member of Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. Robert grew up in Wolf Point where he also attended school to grade 11. His grandmother, Violet Hamilton, raised him until she passed away December 8, 2001. She was the core of Robert’s apple and as her diabetes progressed, he took care of her. As a child, Robert loved spending time with his cousins. But his greatest love was his father, Harold Garfield. Spending time with his father fishing, working on cars, or hunting, were moments Robert lived for. He took after his Dad and loved working on vehicles. Relative, friend, or stranger, if your war pony broke down, Rob would offer help. Robert loved the outdoors, especially fishing, which he would later share those moments with his son, Taven. He loved going to a good powwow, seeing old friends, and an Indian taco or two. His favorite pastime was with his family, joking and laughing.
Robert was survived by his sons, Taven True and Robert Jr., daughter, Angelina, Father Harold Garfield Sr. (Betty), mother Kathlyn Ozborne, sisters Farrah, Heaven Onstad, Arianna Garfield, Madison Garfield, Jatonna Garfield, and Jaqueline Garfield, Uncles Jonathan Garfield, Johnny Laverdure, and Alwin Dubois, Aunts Janell (Robert) Hopkins, Lena Siljenberg, Cynthia Michealsen, and Paula Garfield, many cousins, nieces, and nephews too many to mention.
Robert was preceded by his Great Grandparents Angel Armstrong Hamilton and Harvey Hamilton of Chicken Hill, Grandmother Violet Hamilton, Grandfather Rafie Garfield, brother Harold Garfield Jr., Aunts, Susan Garfield and Angel Garfield, cousin, Mason Garfield, nephew Jeter Lilley.
Robert Stephen Garfield, aka, Rob Jeezy, will be mourned and missed by many.
