Robert J. “Lil Bob” Grandchamp, Jr., age 40, of Wolf Point, MT passed away at the family home on Sunday, January 11, 2009.

Robert was born in Glasgow, MT on November 9, 1968 to Iris J. Beauchamp Grandchamp and Robert J. Grandchamp, Sr. He grew up in Glasgow, attended schools there and in Wolf Point. While in Glasgow he met Dorena Blanchard and they had four children.

In his younger days, “Lil” Bob, as he was known to many, loved to go fishing with this dad and camping at Porcupine Creek with this many cousins. Many summers were spent out at Pines Youth Camp with his sister and later with his cousins.

He was a jack of all trades; he liked to work on cars with his dad and they spent countless hours doing so. Robert worked with family doing fencing in Wyoming as a teen and as an adult. He enjoyed working with Mr. Halverson of Glasgow doing construction jobs. Later he worked in Laurel, MT as a cook at the Pelican truck stop while living with the Arnesons, his adopted family whom he loved very much. Lil Bob loved to joke and tease with family and friends; he could make anyone laugh.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Grandchamp, both sets of grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles of the Beauchamp and Grandchamp families.

He is survived by his father, Robert Grandchamp, Sr., his youngest sister, Angie Grandchamp and son Darian, his sister Corina (Paul) Smith, nephew, Maverick, nieces Taurean, Miya, Reagen, and great niece, Amerah Jai Smith, all of Wolf Point; Dorena Blanchard, daughters Brittany, age 17, June, age 15, Ryan, age 13 and Robert III, age 12, all of Glasgow, MT.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Janurary 17, 2009 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Pastor Danny Lindsay will be officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be at a later date: to be determined by the family. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
