Robert James Longtree Jr. (Bobby) age 34, of Poplar, Montana. His dad saw him suffering, so he touched his wing and took him home, July 8th, 2011 and 11:14 A.M.
Bobby was born on July 20, 1976 to Robert and Sherry Lynn (Turning Bear) Longtree in Poplar, Montana.
During his high school years, Bobby played basketball, and football, his dad would attend all his games near or far, cheering him on. He graduated in 1995, at Poplar high school. Later he attended Northern College and Billings Rocky Mountain College. Bobby worked various jobs including: Chuck Knowlton during the summer, Brad Tandes, shoveling snow, and mowing yards. He was very kind and loving to his family and friends, along with everybody who crossed his path in his lifetime.
Bobby is survived by his mother Sherry Dupree of Poplar; brother Christopher Longtree of Great Falls, MT; sisters Olivia (Leo) Longtree of Poplar, Christina (Nick) Longtree of Williston, ND; nephews Jeremy Reddog, Nashon Reddog, Nicholi Nelson all of Williston; aunts, Pauline Granbois, Maria Youngman, Tara Longtree, Margret Olson, Rebecca Loves Him, Yvette White Hawk, Margret Hapa, Annie Lester, Arlene Jones, Julia Young, Janelle Menz, Evadna Running Bear, Laverne Loves Him, Joyce Martell, Marilyn Martell, Donna Martell, Donna Youngman, Estelle Loves Him, Rhonda Owens, Pauline Boxer, Valerie Longtree, Kay Longtree, Linda Lezard, Charmain Iron Bear, Cheryl Boyd, Myra Daniels, Beth Whitebull, Iris Greybull, Wilma Longee, Sissy Chopper, Shirly Jackson, Sharon Granbois, Diane Granbois, and Mary Savior; uncles Phillip Granbois, Dennis Longtree, Clarence Longtree Jr., Norman (Hindu) Muskrat, Edgar and Maynard Jones, Levi Olson Sr., Robert Olson Sr., Kenny Olson Sr., Dean Yellow Hawk, Loren Yellow Hawk, Jr. Greybull, Harry Iron Jr., Lonnie Iron Bear, Robert Daniels Sr., Son Iron Bear, and Tony Iron Bear; grandmothers Pearl Nation, and Vivian Lindyl; and he has over 1000 cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad Robert Longtree Sr.; maternal grandparents James Turning Bear and Louise Iron Bear; paternal grandparents Clarence Sr. and Alice Longtree; aunts, Barbara War Club, Carol Menz; uncles, Charles Crazy Bull, Stanly Longtree, Kevin Longtree, Clarice Longtree; cousins, Clifford Granbois, Jeremy Chopper, Terrence Olson; niece, Mahogany Iron Bear; and nephew Carlyn Longtree.
A vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14 also at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Cremation is to follow.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
