Roberta K. Lone Bear “Scobey”, 51, of Poplar, MT left to be with the Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Billings, MT.
Scobey (Roberta) was born February 4, 1960 to Irene Martin Philbrick and Adelbert Lone Bear, Sr. She was taken into the Earl and Vivian Jones family as a daughter during her early years.
In 1985, she worked as a CNA in Miles City, MT and she also worked at B&S Quick Stop in Brockton, MT. Scobey enjoyed being with her children and grandkids. She liked to surprise family with gifts, whom she thought dearly of. She also liked to help out with the cooking for holidays, and family get-togethers. Roberta also loved to listen and dance to music with her many friends and family. She enjoyed her invites for breakfast and coffee with longtime friends, Noreen Four Bear and Violet Comes Last. Scobey had a love for cats; she had many that she cared for during her time here. Everyone who knew Scobey knew she had a great sense of humor and she always managed to put a smile on their faces.
Scobey is survived by her children, Breanne (Austin) Cantrell, Matthew (Alexis) James, Dylan Lone Bear, Daniel Eagle, Daneen Eagle, and Sunni Lone Bear all of Poplar; grandchildren, Jacob Lone Bear, Brendin, Jaidyn, Miranda, and Wendy Cantrell, Taran and Malaia James all of Poplar and Serranity Lone Bear of Fort Kipp, MT; mother, Irene (Nelson “Bud”) Philbrick of Brockton, MT; sisters, Karen (Craig) Cain of Poplar, Delphine Lone Bear, and Patricia (Rodney) Todd both of Brockton; brothers, Adelbert Lone Bear Jr., Marty Lone Bear Sr., Gerald “Pinky” (Patty) Lone Bear all of Poplar, and Darryl (Noreen) Lone Bear of Brockton; special nephew, Reede Lone Bear; special niece, Lacey (Jade) Lone Bear; longtime special companion, Elton Jones of Poplar; nephews, Gary Lone Bear, Ian Lone Bear, Luke Lone Bear, Callen Lone Bear, Marty Lone Bear Jr., Marshal Cain, Nathan Lone Bear, Samuel Bird, Alex Lone Bear; nieces, Jamie Lone Bear, Coleen Cain, Mandy Berwick, Angela Bird, Kimberly Bird, Cristy Lone Bear, Janna Lone Bear, Nicole Lone Bear, Denise Fast Horse, Janet Lone Bear; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Adelbert Lone Bear, Sr.; brother, Max Lone Bear; sister, Joan Fast Horse; niece, Cricket Lone Bear; nephew, Jeremy Lone Bear; grandmother, Julia Ireland Fast Horse; uncles, Fred Gunn, Lester Lone Bear, Austin Lone Bear, Benjamin Lone Bear and Thomas Martin; aunts, Alline Lone Bear and Naomi Foolish Bear.

An evening service will be held from 7p.m. until 12 midnight on Saturday, October 1 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Cremation is to follow and inurnment will take place at a later date.
