Rodney “Ronnie” Ernest Blackhoop

October 10, 1962 — February 7, 2019

Our beloved Rodney “Ronnie” Ernest Blackhoop made his journey into the spirit world to be with his Heavenly Father after a short battle with cancer on February 7, 2019 at age 56.

Ronnie was born on October 10, 1962 to Darlene Fern Longee and Lee Paul Blackhoop, Sr. He attended school in Poplar, MT, Wahpeton, ND and Swan River, MT. He spent most of his life in Poplar, MT with family and friends.  He worked various jobs but his passion was working on cars with his uncles Bert and Maynard Longee, his brother Lee, cousin Joker and best friend Narvin Chaser.

Ronnie had a personality that everyone loved to know and be around, always willing to help anyone out.  Ronnie loved the simple things in life, that most people took for granted.

He is survived by his parents; mother Darlene Fern Longee of Poplar, MT and father Lee Paul Blackhoop, Sr. of Phoenix, AZ; brother Lee (Yvette) Blackhoop, Jr. of Poplar, MT; sister Elizabeth “Liza” Jackson of Poplar, MT, Pauline “Tiny” (Tom) Cody of Laurel, MT, Francine (Russell) Boxer of Ft. Kipp, Brandy Longee of Poplar, MT; uncles Bert Longee of Toppenish, WA, Maynard (Rose) Longee of Poplar, MT; cousins Blossom Longee of Poplar, MT, Rowdy Longee of Wyoming, Darlene “LuLu” Sampson of Yakima, WA, Deborah Longee and Larry Longee of Sacramento, CA, Amanda and Marcie Longee both of Fountain Hills, AZ, Laura Longee of Vancouver, WA, Tina Longee of Williston, ND, Diane and Maynard Longee of Poplar, MT, Everette “Joker” and Anthony “Tony” Browning of Poplar, MT, Sheila Greybull of Great Falls, MT, Johnna Greybull of Poplar, MT, Brian Greybull of Sisseton, SD; nephews and nieces Mathias and Russell Blackhoop of Poplar, MT, Mahto of Helena, MT, Nina and Richard Cantrell of Wolf Point, MT, Billie Jo Blackhoop of Poplar, MT, Gerald Jackson of Wolf Point, MT, Thomas Arthur of Poplar, MT, Germaine Jackson of Poplar, MT, Tony and Mikkel Shields of Poplar, MT, Zachary and Joshua Dionne of Wolf Point, MT, Mandee Dionne of Bismarck, ND, Mariah Dionne of Poplar, MT, Kristian Erickson of Poplar, MT, Casey and Brandon Walla of Poplar, MT and a very special friend Melissa Wetlin and her three daughters, Alissa, Raylynn and Tammi Jo all of Poplar, MT.

Our apologies to anyone we have forgotten to mention as he had numerous family and friends and relatives. Ronnie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, papa and friend and will be greatly missed but not forgotten.  He will forever remain in our hearts.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister Laurie Ellen Blackhoop; brother Brian Blackhoop; cousin Narvin Chaser and Kimberly Greybull; his grandparents Ernest and Ethel Longee, Lyda and Edwin Chaser; uncles Ernest John Longee, Arthur and Russell Longee, and Melvin “Dennis” Scott; aunt Diane Longee; nephews Ryan Buckles and Carlon Longtree.
