Rodney Bryce TurnToes, Sr., 58 years old, went to be with the creator on Thursday, the 15 th of June, early morning. He was born in Poplar, Montana to Bernice Smoker-TurnToes and Louis Melvin TurnToes (Cheetah). He grew up in Frazer, Montana for most of his years, he attended Frazer School. While attending school, he played basketball and baseball, ran x-country and track. When he graduated high school, he met Anita White in this union, they had three children, Latoya TurnToes, Curtis Smoker, Sheldon Smoker, and Shayna TurnToes. Later, they separated but remained friends. Then he met Ronna LaMere, the love of his life. They were together 30+ years, during those years, they married and had four children, Rodney TurnToes, Jr., Ronni Jo LaMere, Isaiah TurnToes, and Lane TurnToes. Rodney was a firefighter for the Fort Peck Tribes and Rockyboy. Him and his wife, Ronna, would cut wood for the elderly in Rocky Boy.
Rodney is survived by his brothers; DeWayne Bigleggins of Frazer, David (Frances) Bigleggins of Frazer, Franklin (Roxanne) TurnToes of Frazer; a special sister, Adeline Rose (Robert) White, of Frazer; favorite niece and grandson, Sabrina Smoker and Chance Smoker-White of Frazer; his daughters, Latoya (Ronson) LaRoque of Frazer, Ronni Jo LaMere of RockyBoy, Shayna (Alex) TurnToes of Wolf Point; his sons, Curtis Smoker of Frazer, Sheldon Smoker of Frazer, Rodney (Kari) TurnToes, Jr. of Rocky Boy, Isaiah (Shalee) TurnToes of Rocky Boy, Lane (Miracle) TurnToes of Box Elder; stepson, Lionel (Kari) White of Wolf Point; he has 17 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Louis TurnToes; his brothers, Harold, Eugene, Dwight, Sherwin Bigleggins, Louis, Melvin, and sister, Babygirl BigLeggins.
A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 29 South Frazer (Westland) Road. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 29 South Frazer (Westland) Road. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
