Ronald Joseph Garfield, AKICITA C’ANTE, “Warrior’s Heart,” age 49, of Wolf Point, MT passed away September 26, 2009.

Ronnie was born July 28, 1960 to Daniel and Barbara (Bear) Garfield in Wolf Point, MT. He attended school in Wolf Point and enjoyed playing softball, baseball including Babe Ruth and Little League, basketball, football and was a member of Indian Club. After graduating, Ronnie attended Haskell Jr. College in Lawrence, KS.

Ronnie was an alter boy for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church while growing up and as an adult was a member of the Catholic Church.

Ronnie married Denise Blount on August 7, 2004 in Wolf Point. He worked at the BIA Facilities Management for thirteen years, the Fort Peck Housing as a carpenter, and also did construction.

Ronnie loved fishing tournaments with his wife, Denise. He also enjoyed archery hunting for elk with his family. He had a deep love for all his family, especially his wife, his children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to Pow-wows and he loved playing BINGO.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Garfield, paternal grandfather, Daniel Garfield, Sr., maternal grandmother, Lucille Bear and maternal grandfather, George Bear.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; children, Katherine Garfield of Wolf Point, Mervin Garfield, Jr. of Shepherd, MT and Jennifer Windy Boy of Frazer, MT; father and step-mother, Daniel and Dixie Garfield of Shepherd; brothers, Duane of Polson, MT, Mervin, Sr. of Wolf Point; sisters, Tracie (TC) Moss of Wolf Point, Faith (Daniel) Yanez of Phoenix, AZ and Joy (Ted) Toavs of Wolf Point; granddaughters, Jenuine and Jazmyn Windy Boy of Frazer and grandmother, Agnes Garfield of Wolf Point.

There will be a Four-Day Feast starting Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at noon at the Family home in Wolf Point. Wake will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Oswego Community Hall. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Wolf Point. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a reception at Silver Wolf Casino following burial.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
