Rose Marie Walking Eagle went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Thousand Palms, California.

Rose Walking Eagle was born on May 3, 1949 to Victor Walking Eagle, Sr. and Mercyline Miller Walking Eagle in Poplar, Montana. She attended school in Wolf Point, Montana until she went out to Bremerton, Washington and worked in the shipyard for many years. She also volunteered her time at the Indian Center which she enjoyed very much. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo and playing machines.

Rose grew up at Chicken Hill along with her sisters, Myrna and Phyllis and brother, Kenny.

Rose is survived by two sisters, Myrna Walking Eagle and Phyllis Walking Eagle, both from Portland, Oregon; one uncle, Willard Miller of Wolf Point; one aunt, Rose Miller Lilley of Wolf Point; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; and one very special friend, Hazel Moore, from Thousand Palms, California.

Rose is preceded in death by her father, Victor Walking Eagle, Sr.; mother, Mercyline Miller Walking Eagle; brother, Kenny Walking Eagle. Maternal Grandparents were Lena Bearskin and Isaac Miller. Paternal Grandparents were Lucien Walking Eagle and Adelle (Malataire) Walking Eagle.

A Prayer Service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel, Wolf Point. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel, Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Oswego, Montana.
