Rose Vina Lafloe, 97, of Wolf Point, passed away January 22, 2014 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Vina was on born on September 2, 1916 to Gabriel and Celine (Turcotte) Bushman in Trenton, ND.
Vina worked as a laundry maid at the old Sherman Inn and also worked at the Liberty Theatre. She worked at A & S Industries as well as Penny’s and Ben Franklin.
She is survived by sons James Brunelle of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robert Lafloe, Jr. of Helena, and Michael LaFloe of Poplar. Vina is survived by her daughter Margaret (Joe) Leggett of Wolf Point. She was grandmother to 16 grandkids, 32 great grandkids, and 5 great-great grandkids.
Vina was preceded in death by daughters Celine and Claudia, grandsons Thomas and Scott, husband James Brunelle who died in World War II in 1945, and husband Lewis LaFloe.
Her Indian name was Blue Eyes (Istha to win). She was the oldest Indian elder on the reservation.
A Vigil will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. The Rite of Committal will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.
