Rosella “Sally” Loegering
Rosella “Sally” Loegering, age 86, of Poplar, MT left this world behind to be reunited with her beloved husband on October 30, 2008.
Sally was born In Long Prairie, MN to the late Robert and Catherine (Muenzhuber) Stephan on June 8, 1922.
She attended catholic school in Long Prairie, MN.
On September 28, 1940 Sally married her one and only love, Pete Loegring. Together Pete and Sally had a dairy farm in Long Prairie, MN, and in 1943 they had their first son, Del. They moved to a farm outside Browerville, MN where their second son Dick was born in 1945. In 1948 the family picked up and moved to Poplar, MT where they eventually bought a farm of their own. After trying their hands at farming, they moved to town. In 1956 Sally and Pete had their first daughter, Tana, and later in 1959 had their second daughter Lori and in 1962 they started a small family owned construction business; their business was successful until it closed in 1998.
Sally worked at the Poplar School cafeteria for 23 years. After retirement, she continued to do the books for the family business; she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed watching all of them grow. She was Treasurer of the Senior Citizens Group and enjoyed the time she spent with everyone. She also loved to read.
Sally was a devoted catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar, MT.
She is survived by her children:, Dick and Sharie Loegering of Lovell, WY, Tana and Robert Atkinson of Poplar, MT, Lori Loegering of Billings, MT; daughter-in-law Mavis Loegering of Poplar, MT her 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband Pete, son Del Loegering, and granddaughter DeAnna Atkinson.
A Rosary Vigil will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Poplar, MT. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Interment will follow in Poplar City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com.
