Ross Ruhd

July 30, 1976 — January 8, 2025

Wolf Point

Ross Patrick Ruhd was born on July 30th, 1976 in Wolf Point, Montana to Kiyo and Rockie Ruhd. He passed away on January 8th, 2025 in Great Falls, Montana after battling pneumonia.

Ross was referred to as the “Gentle Giant” by his grandmother, Myrle, and it rang true throughout his life. He was the big brother and one of the older cousins growing up and always cared for and protected them. He loved spending time with family and playing a card game called “one card,” trying to win that pot of quarters! We know he’s up there teaching his grandparents how to play. Ross had a loud, contagious laugh & was always so friendly to those around him.

Ross graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1995. He attended college at MSU-Northern in Havre from 1995-96. He returned home and was a dedicated employee at various local businesses, including the Sherman Inn, the Elks Club and, most recently, Albertsons. He enjoyed his visits with his coworkers and customers very much.

Ross enjoyed traveling to the Oregon coast to see his brother, Ryan, and other family in the Salem and Portland areas. They would rent a beach house every other summer and enjoy walks along the beach, delicious seafood, and again and most importantly, spending time with family. Although the drive was long, it was always worth it. He also loved the time he and his family spent camping and fishing at Fort Peck.

Ross had an incredible knack for remembering sports facts & could tell you the answer to any question if asked. His favorite sport was football and he was an avid and faithful Chicago Bears fan. When you would see him out-and-about he would likely be sporting a Chicago Bears hat or shirt…or both! Ross watched every Bears game he could and would retell pretty much any statistic of each game. One year, he had his cousin Heidi pick up a football stats book in Billings for him and, while reading through it, he found an error. We looked it up and sure enough, he was right! We all used to say he should’ve been a sports analyst for ESPN.

Ross is survived by his parents, Kiyo & Rockie, brother Ryan (Kama), aunts Leni (Marvin) Loendorf and Nikki (Jim) Johnson, his uncles Steve (Traci) Harada and Jeff Harada, Art Ruhd, Bruce (Mary) Ruhd, Stephen (Arlene) Ruhd, Larry (Penny) Ruhd, cousins Justin (Tai) Loendorf, Heidi (Jeff) Kent, Krista (Jeremy) Brunelle, Sara (Liam) Macdonald, Kara Harada, Misty Ruhd, Barry (Jodee) Stein, Jenni Hill, Steve Ruhd, Dale (Rebecca) Ruhd, Danni (Michael) Peters, Jeremy Ruhd, Shanna Kust, John Johnson, Cari Johnson, Dakota Robinson, Jaki Harada, Maia, Audri, and Gavin Kent, Thatcher and Emily Brunelle, Remington Macdonald and numerous other cousins. We will all miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrle & Ben Harada and Ruby and Harold Ruhd, aunt Yvonne Ruhd, uncle Denny Ruhd and cousin Tina Ruhd.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel, who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
