Ruth Elizabeth Frederick, 73, passed away September 26, 2019 at her home in Poplar, MT.
Ruth was born on October 21, 1945 to Lewis & Hattie (Hinman) Frederick in Wolf Point, MT. She attended school in Poplar, MT, and graduated in 1964. Ruth then attended Job Corp in Oregon. She eventually attended the Great Falls College of Technology where she received her nursing degree for LPN.
Ruth worked as a nurse at Trinity Hospital/NEMHS for 47 years retiring in 2015. Bored with retirement, Ruth began substitute teaching for the Poplar Schools. This led to her current full time status as a para-professional in the Poplar Middle School.
Ruth gave back to her community by volunteering as a Girl Scout leader for many years, a Sunday School Teacher, and in the summer the Nazarene Church Camp nurse.
Ruth enjoyed reading, word searches, Sudoku puzzles, and her Sunday afternoon Nazarene nap! It was not uncommon to find Ruth with knitting needles or a crochet hook in a project she was currently working on. She gave out many blankets, scarves, mittens, hats, and dish towels as gifts to family & friends. Ruth also loved to play games with her family during the holidays. She was a wicked spoons player and no one wanted to sit next to her!
Ruth never had any children of her own, but she was very active in the lives of her siblings’ children and grandchildren. Ruth’s demeanor often appeared to be stern, but she had a loving & caring heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
Ruth is survived by her brother Peter Frederick of Nashua, MT and sisters Esther Stuehm, Sarah (Dennis) Thompson, and Mary Frederick all of Poplar, MT. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and a great, great niece & nephew.
Ruth is proceeded in death by her mother & father, Hattie & Lewis Frederick; Brothers John, Leroy, Joseph, David, Mark, Samuel, and Abraham Frederick; Sister Martha Bridges; Niece Heather Frederick; Nephew Shane Frederick.
