Sidney “Wicks” Blount

Sidney Rory Blount “WICKS” was born June 19, 1962 to Thelma J. Steele Blount and late George Buck Blount Jr. Sid lost his battle to cancer on December 14, 2018 at 3:40 a.m. at the Billings Clinic. Sid loved his life, he was cowboy strong. Sid was a kind and generous man. He supported his children in their educational and sports endeavors. Sid went to school in Frazer from elementary to High School graduating with the class of “1980” he attended Haskell Indian Jr. College, in Lawrence Kansas. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. Shortly after his medical discharge, he became a proud father of his first born daughter Natalie Rose Blount. Sid worked in a variety of jobs which included seismographer, ranch hand, maintenance at Frazer School, Frazer Headstart Program, Silver Wolf Casino, and the Willow factory in Wolf Point. He loved watching Western movies and rodeos, he was involved in the Wild Horse Race at Stampede until he was injured with a broken leg. He respected the Wild Horse Racers, especially Milo Jackson and Garrett Long, past and present Jackson and Standing teams. Sid was Sid, he loved life to the fullest. He had many friends throughout his life. He had many fond memories of his youth. Brush walker and was quite the Indian dancer. He always remembered the days of being a band member of “Imitation Explosion” entertaining at the Sock Hops at the Frazer Community Hall and practicing at Grandpa George’s garage with Mason Runs Through Jr., Floyd Ackerman, Rocky Dejarlais, and Garrett Big Leggins Jr. He enjoyed the friendships of the Jackson Boys and Roy Adams, Randy Firemoon Sr., Dominic Bradley, and cousin Charles “Chuck” Wallette. He participated in Junior High and High School Basketball for the Bearcubs and Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and Independent basketball games. He loved riding his horse “Two Socks” on Cattle Drives.

Sid is survived by his wife Theda; children Natalie Rose Blount, Rory Cole Blount, Megan Rivas, (Cody) Lincoln Craig Blount (Shandel) Sydney Raelee Blount; grandchildren Ethan, Kallen, Kalleigh, Jameelah, Asia, Echo, Cody Jr. Shai, Calissa, Bethany, Sophia, Olivia, Latavius, Harmony, Issac, Simmer, Lilly Ann, and Abigail; Mom Thelma Steele Blount; brothers, George (Candy), and Robin (Colleen); adopted brother Randy Firemoon Jr.; step brothers Lawrence, Dewayne, Jason, Terrence Hamilton; sisters Loni (Todd) Jones, Delane (Angie); adopted sister Lynette Adams; step sisters Bernice, Rose, Peggy, Taffy Hamilton, Bernita Chapman; nephews Robin Blount Jr., Troy, Shawn, Denny, and Josh Blount; Alonzo (Violet) and Warren Jones; nieces Joni Jones, Brandy Carry Water (Ben), Uncle Harold “Dean” Blount, Auntie Marietta “Babe” Four Bear, Judy Johnson, Rae Jean Belgarde, and numerous uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad George Buck Blount Jr. (1973); sisters Natalie LaRae and Angela Pearl (1968); his paternal grandparents George Blount Sr. and Clara “Red Eagle” Blount; his maternal grandparents William “Bill” Steele and Agnes Scott; Step Dad Elliott Todd; grandma’s Alice Buck Elk, Katherine Blount, Rita Belgarde, Pearl Four Bear and Grandpa Phil Red Eagle, his Wild Horse Race brothers (Wilbert “Chief”, Clarence “Indian” and Emerson Jackson.)

A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Frazer Community Hall in Frazer, MT. Funeral Services will also be at the Frazer Community Hall at 11:00 a.m. December 20, 2018. Interment will follow at the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery in Oswego. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
