Stanley Raymond Longtree, age 55, of Poplar, Montana passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence in Belcourt.

Stanley was born February 21, 1956 in Poplar, MT to Clarence Longtree and Alice (Lester) Longtree. He was raised in Poplar and received his GED in 1975. His following education was extensive including: Dawson Community College, SIPI in Albuquerque, NM, FPCC, and graduated from United Tribes Technical College in 2000 with a degree in Health Information Technology.

Stanley was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar and St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Belcourt, ND. He was also a member of B.H.E.R.A.

He worked in the Indian Health Service at Belcourt from October 2000 to September 2009. He also lived for a time in Bismarck, ND.

Stanley loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting relatives, going to pow-wows, watching favorite T.V. shows, playing bingo and listening to 70’s rock music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alice Longtree; brothers, Robert Longtree, Sr., Kevin Longtree and Charles Longtree; sisters, Clarice Iron Leggins; nephew, Clifford Granbois; grandson, Carlon James Longtree; niece, Mahogany Youngman and nephew Terry Olson.

Stanley is survived by his three daughters, Traci Longtree of Poplar, Vanessa Longtree of Rolla and Jennifer Longtree of Belcourt; his grandchildren, Joshua Miller of Poplar, Jenessa Medicine of Rolla, Calvin Delorme Jr. of Belcourt and Jordon Messerly of Poplar; his brothers, Clarence Longtree, Jr. and Dennis Longtree both of Poplar; his sisters, Pauline (Phillip) Granbois, Maria Youngman, Margaret (Levi) Olson, Tara Longtree and Norman John Muskrat and all of Poplar.

A Vigil Service will be held Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar, MT. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 also at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Francis Schreiber as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Poplar.

Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point is in charge of arrangements.
