Steven Alvin Douglas, Sr., age 61, of Wolf Point, MT passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013.
He was born April 6, 1951 in Poplar, MT to Joseph and Christine Davis Douglas. Steve was born into a large family of 3 sisters and 8 brothers.
Steven graduated from Chilocco Indian School in Chilocco, OK. In his younger years, he worked for the City of Wolf Point, A & S Industries, as a firefighter, and C.N.A. Steve was blessed with musical talent. He was a self-taught lead and bass guitar player, and he also played the drums. He enjoyed playing Gospel music with his brothers, Leroy and Arnold.
Steve was married to Darlene Four Star. To this union his only son, Steven Alvin Douglas, Jr., was born. Steve and Darlene later divorced. His son was his pride and joy, and the light of his life.
Steve is survived by his only son, Steven (Lynette) Douglas, Jr. of Wolf Point; granddaughter, Shandara Douglas; brothers, Leroy (Cindy), Arnold (Sandy), Jeffrey, and John Douglas, all of Wolf Point; sisters, Vivian D. Jones, Midge Clancy, and Louella (Mike) Contreras all of Wolf Point; first cousins who were raised as his sisters, Melissa Cantrell and JoAnn White Eagle both of Wolf Point; step-children, Marvin (Amanda) and Marva Bull Chief; nieces and nephews, Bill Jones, Earl Jones III, Justin Douglas, David Menz, JD Douglas, Larry Francisco, Clair Four Star, Carl Douglas, Michael Douglas, Courtney Cantrell, Jr., Earlene Ackerman, DeAnn Red Star, Marta Wise Spirit, Shelley Radue, Michelle Clancy, Mariah Douglas, Shaniah Douglas, Tara Douglas, Della Pipestem, Georgia Dupuis, Rose Cantrell, Juanita Cantrell, Carla Cantrell, Anna Marie Crazy Bull, Ophelia Crazy Bull, and Isaac Miller; and numerous grandchildren and family too many to name, but he loved them all.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Christine Davis and Joseph Douglas; brothers, William, Duane, and Jesse Douglas; and step-daughter, Shirlene Bull Chief.
An evening service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 30 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Box Elder Cemetery in Poplar, MT.
