Steven Alvin Douglas Jr.

March 25, 1979 — December 14, 2020

Steven Alvin Douglas “Standing Bear” (Mató Názi) age 41, our Dad, Grandpa, brother, and Nephew passed way on December 13, 2020 in Wolf Point, MT.  Stevie was born March 25, 1979 to Darlene FourStar-Gray and Steven Douglas, St in Wolf Point, MT.

He lived in Hays, MT, Billings, and Wolf Point, MT.  He was a talented artist; in his younger years he did calligraphy writing by memory with Old English writing being his favorite.  He made his own tattoo guns and with his artistic ability he gave many of his friends and relatives tattoos.  He loved listening to music, cruising and watching movies with his family.  He loved to go to powwows and was looking forward to taking his Little Man Michael.  He liked to go house to house and visit his family.  He was always good to talk to and was a good listener.  He was always willing to help his family and anyone in need.  He was always very respectful to his elders and everyone.

In 1995, he met Donessa RedBoy and together they had his only daughter, Shandarra Bernice Douglas, his “Baby Shan”, who was his whole world.  He was a kind, caring attentive and loving Dad and Grandpa.

On August 16, 2018, his “Little Man” Michael Wayne Alexander Herrera was born.  He loved taking care of him, playing with him and taking him outside to play.  Michael’s face would always light up when he saw his Grandpa.  He always made sure that they had everything they needed. He came over every day “just to check on him” and give him hugs and tell him he loved him.

Steve is survived by his daughter Shandarra (David) Douglas, his only grandson Michael “Little Man” Herrera, his sisters Marva Buillchief, Emoree Gray, Myra (Brian) Weston, his first cousins whom he considered brothers and sisters, Tara (Robert) Douglas, Larry Francisco, Deanne Jones, Justin Douglas, Adam RunsThrough, Vine RunsThrough, Matthew RunsThrough, Luke Jackson, aunts Vivian Jones, Louella (Michael) Douglas Contreras, uncles Jeffrey Douglas and Andrew FourStar, nephews Timothy Hotamanie, Jason Bullchief III, Quentin Bullchief, Brad Bullchief, Kyle Youngman and Darris RedEagle, nieces Rebee Bullcief, Kyleen Bullchief and Miranda Youngman, sister-in-law Amanda Bullchief and granddaughter Jacora Youngman and “the grandkids”.

Stevie is preceded in death by his mother Darlene FourStar-Gray and his father Steven Douglas, Sr., siter Shirlene Bullchief, brother Marvin Bullchief, Jr., special nephew/brothers Clair FourStar, Christopher Douglas, first cousin/sister Michelle Radue.

Stevie was part of a very large family, so if we failed to mention anyone, we apologize.

Stevie (Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Nephew) you will always be so loved and missed and forever in our hearts and never forgotten.  You left us too soon and we will always cherish our precious memories of you.
