Theodore Grandchamp, better known as “Butch”, age 67 of Frazer, MT passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Poplar Hospital, Poplar, MT after a chronic illness due to diabetes .
He was born April 3, 1942 the son of Rose (Cox) and the late Alfred Nelson Grandchamp, in Frazer.
Theodore lived most of his life in Frazer with his wife of 32 years, Patricia Grandchamp, and also lived some of his years in Glasgow, MT and Browning, MT.
He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed hunting, paddle fishing, rope making, leatherworking, working with Diamond Willow, and he enjoyed camping yearly, for 40 years, at the Red Bottom Celebrations.
Butch had worked as a construction worker and a ranch hand for the Fort Peck Tribes and private ranchers.
He is survived by his mother Rose Grandchamp of Wolf Point; five sons; Ted of Wolf Point, John (Melissa) of Pablo, MT, George of Lake Tahoe, CA, Phillip (Kirsten) of Wolf Point, Donavan Buckman of Wyoming; two daughters, Dawn (Richie) Dumont of Wolf Point, and JoAnne Spotted Wolf of Poplar; a stepson Ronald James Pepion of Browning; a brother John (Linda) Grandchamp, Sr. of Frazer; a sister Vina Barnett of Anchorage, AK; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous relatives.
Butch was preceded in death by his father Alfred Sonny Grandchamp; a brother Alfred Grandchamp, Jr.; a granddaughter Jessica Bauer; and a sister Darlene Grandchamp.
A Wake will be held starting at 6:00 p.m., with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Senior Citizens Center in Frazer, MT.
The Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 also at the Senior Citizens Center in Frazer, MT.
Interment will follow the funeral service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer. MT.
