Tyra Rose Scott, age 35, of Poplar, Montana passed away on January 12, 2022 at the Poplar Hospital. She was born on December 22, 1986 in Poplar, Montana to Pauline Red Star and Reginald Scott.
Over the years Tyra worked several jobs including work at the Tribes in the commodities center, at FPCC as the filing clerk, at NEMHS in housekeeping, at the Tribes as a guard and cook, at the Boys and Girls Club, at Nancy’s Housekeeping, and she delivered food for Brockton and Fort Kipp during the summer. Her hobbies included visiting family and friends, taking country cruises with her children and listening to music.
Her children are Tylisha Red Eagle and Brandon Red Star, of Poplar. Her siblings are Laurel Menz, Michael Menz, Sheila Huertas, Marian Scott, Nancy Scott, and Tricia Red Star. Her aunties include Marcella (Joel) Greybull, Cheryl (Corey) Two Hearts, Nancy Red Star, Patti Red Star, Josephine Red Star, Robyn Baker, Jeanine Renz, Starla Longee, Crystal Azure, and Jennifer Crowe. Her uncles include Samuel (Deanna) Red Star, Joseph Red Star, Delbert Red Star, Paul Red Star, Levi Red Star, George Red Star, Kenneth Eder, Robert Eder, Kevin Eder, Danny (Glenna) Renz, Ralph Hamilton, and Harold (Colleen) Renz. Her nieces and nephews include Riki Longhair, Pauline Longhair, Haley Gray Hawk, Daniel Gray Hawk, Devin Gray Hawk, Brian Mail, Jr., ReShaun Mail, Giovanni Huertas, Gabrielle Camrud, Regan Camrud, Dakota Grant, Abigail Ricker, Logan Grant, Kiara Grant, April Nunn, Davette Crowe, Timothy Nunn, Jaxon Wounded Face, plus many others, too numerous to name. Tyra is also survived by both sides of the family too numerous to name, she loved you all.
Tyra is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Red Star; her sister, April Scot; maternal grandparents, Virginia Lame Dog and Paul Red Star, Jr.; Paternal grandparents, Harold Renz and Delores Scott; uncles, Delmer Red Star, Juan Eder, and Mark Eder; and auntie, Shannon Eder.
A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, January 21 at the Poplar Cultural Center. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
