Valerie Jane Follet, age 41, of Wolf Point, MT went home to be with the Lord of Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Valerie was born on July 25, 1977 to Harry Follet Jr. and Dorothy Follet in Wolf Point. She grew up in Frazer, MT and attended Frazer Schools, where she was active in cheerleading, band, and singing. She loved to go hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends and listening to music of all kinds. She loved spending time with her children and all her brothers and sisters. She was married to Robert Iron Shield in June of 1992, they later separated. For a short time she did housekeeping at the Cottonwood Inn in Glasgow, MT. She enjoyed powwows, but mainly just enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family.
Valerie is survived by her children, Katelyn Clark of Frazer, Jacinta Big Leggins of Billings, MT, Jenna Sesma of California, and Jerome Follet of Wolf Point; grandchildren, Jaslyn Follet, Jenae Matthews, and one on the way; sisters, Harriet Jean Follet, Blossom Star (Tex) Eagleman; brothers, Luke (Jade Miner) Follet of McLaughlin, SD, Patrick, Kerby (Sherry), and Orlando Follet all of Wolf Point; aunts, Myrna Begs His Own of Glasgow, Sadie (Dean) Blount of Frazer, Donna Follet of Wolf Point; uncles, Tyrus (Fern) Follet of Wolf Point, Daniel and Noel Begs His Own of Glasgow, and Robert “Jumbo” Begs His Own of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Harry Sr. and Mildred Follet; sister, Cynthia Follet; uncles, Abel Follet, Sr., Elvis Follet, Sr., and Gerald Begs His Own; aunts, Sharon White, Hattie Begs His Own, and Arlene Gomez; and nephews on the Follet side.
A traditional four day feast will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at the Community Hall in Wolf Point. Visitation will start at 4 p.m. until the family service at 7 p.m. Friday, November 16 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery.
