William “Bill” Henry

William “Bill” Henry, 69, of Wolf Point passed away on May 29, 2014 in Wolf Point.  Bill was born on January 14, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Norman and Olivia (Bukowski) Henry.  He was raised in Sauk Centre, Minnesota and graduated from high school there in 1963.  Later that year he enlisted in the Air Force and was based at Glasgow Air Force Base in Northeast Montana.  He met Patricia Burnison and they were married on October 7, 1965 in Rapid City, South Dakota.  After his marriage to Pat they lived on base until his tour was completed when they moved to Ellendale, North Dakota where he attended college, later moving back to the Hi-Line settling in Wolf Point.  Bill and Pat had two sons Billy  and Jason .

Bill retired as Postmaster in 2000 due to illness.  He wrote “Sports Shorts” for the Herald News for many years until 1994.  He very much enjoyed sports photography, writing sports journalism for the Herald News and supporting the Wolf Point Wolves .  Bill was very much involved in his community with a strong passion for the Wolf Point Youth Baseball Program for 20 years.  Bill also loved to golf and especially enjoyed his grandkids Billy, Tucker, and Slater.

Bill is survived by his wife Patricia, sons Bill (Crista) and Jason (Tina), sisters Carol (Matt) Stalboerger, Mary Lou (Matt) Lieser, brothers Norman (Barb) Henry, Loren (Laurie) Beste, and Allen (Tina) Beste.  He is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister Janet, his parents, and stepfather Herman Beste.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be made to the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes at P.O. Box 65265, Vancouver, Washington, 98665-0009 or the Local 100 Club in Wolf Point. Condolences for the family may be left at www.claytonstevensonchapel.com.  Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
