William Dale Black Dog, age 60, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Billings at the Billings Clinic due to diabetic complications.
William (Billy) was born on September 22, 1958 to Cecelia M. and Robert O. Black Dog, Sr. in Poplar, MT.
He graduated from Brockton High School in 1977. Billy also attended Glendive Community College and Williston College. In 1979, Billy met Betty Ann Red Eagle, they later married on December 24, 1991. Together they raised her granddaughter and great granddaughter, Tamara and Dennissa.
Billy played bass guitar in the Black Dog Band. Also, when he was not playing in the band or practicing with his brothers, he enjoyed having cook outs, and family dinners.
Billy was a kind and generous person, always lending a helping hand to whomever needed it. He was a self employed mechanic and worked on a lot of cars, mostly hi sown, he collected a lot of tools along the way. He also enjoyed working on cars with his brother Leonard. Until diabetes took a toll on his body and he became disabled. He had a long struggle with his health.
William (Billy) Black Dog is survived by his brothers Robert O. Black Dog, Jr. and Duane A. Black Dog (wife Val) and one sister Cindi (Leonard Sr.) Follette all of Fort Kipp and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by both his parents Cecelia and Robert Black Dog, Sr.; his wife Betty Black Dog; brothers Isaac L. Black Dog and Charles R. Black Dog; half sister Evelyn R. Counter-Olsen.
