William H. Eder, Sr. 82, of Poplar, MT passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Malta, MT at the Hi Line Retirement Home.
William was born on February 2, 1930 in Veblen, South Dakota to the late Mildred LaCroix & William M. Eder. He was raised in Blair, MT and later moved to Poplar where he attended school. At the age of 17 he joined the US Air Force & served for nine years, he was later honorably discharged.
He was joined in marriage to Lillian Bruguier and to this union his sons were born; William Jr. & Forrest.
In 1971 he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah & in July of 1972 he married JoAnn Bateson & to this union a daughter, Rosie was born. He made his home in Salt Lake for 18 years.
Bill worked several years as an avid carpenter & passed this trade along to his sons. He also worked at IHS, Fort Peck Housing & the US Census. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing & camping, playing Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, loved watching his favorite teams, the Utah Jazz & the Minnesota Vikings play on TV, & also loved watching his great grandchildren play sports & attending their school activities. Bill also donated to many charities, including the St. Labre Indian School & the Veterans Administration.
He is survived by his children, William (Rebecca) Eder Jr., Forrest (Angela) Eder , Eric Bruguier all of Wolf Point & a daughter, Rosie Eder of Salt Lake City, Utah, a son Father Julian Nix of Bismarck, ND and a daughter Angeline Iron Cloud of Gillette, WY., grandchildren Laurel, Mandy, James, Jessica, Stephen & Channing Eder, Austin Pederson, Desmond, Eric Jr., Clinton, Jared, Brianna & Joseph Bruguier and his treasured great grandchildren Janaeya & Tyson Sutherland, Samantha, Ian & Forrest Dumont, Madison Eder, Christopher & Jade Miller, Xavier Darnell & Haleena Bear, along with other countless friends & family members who were blessed to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William M. Eder & Mildred LaCroix Eder and a brother Edward Eder.
Friends & family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, September 10, 12 at 2pm at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
