William J. Necklace, age 65, of Poplar, MT passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Poplar Hospital in Poplar, MT.
W.J. as everyone knew him by, was born to Felix Necklace and Christine Youngman on September 29, 1948. He was raised by his loving grandparents, John and Elsie Necklace.
W.J. loved to hunt in his younger days and served in the US Army for 2 years. He was on the Brockton Warrior basketball team in 1966 when they placed 3 rd in the state basketball tournament. He continued to be a Brockton Warrior fan and enjoyed watching the video of the Warriors playing in the state tournament the year they won the championship.
W.J. is survived by his son, Arnon (Faith) Black Dog; grandchildren, Avery, Brett, Erin, Allery, Armon, Ariana, and Aevryn; nephews, Lenny Rattling Thunder, Terry Rattling Thunder, Frenchy Rattling Thunder, Harlan Rattling Thunder, and Matthew Rattling Thunder; sister, Ruth Necklace; cousins, Lorene (Doug) Michel of Jamestown, ND, Charlotte and Melvin Goodsoldier of Poplar, Clifford Jerome of Poplar, and Marvin Medicine Horse of Cannon Ball, ND; aunts, Catherine Spotted Bird and Florence Youngman; uncles, Leland (Doris) Spotted Bird and Michael Youngman; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Alesia Jane Black Dog; parents, Felix Necklace and Christine Youngman; grandparents, John and Elsie Necklace, Benjamin (Charlotte) Kills Thunder, Lela, Theresa, Emma, Laney, and Patrick Necklace; aunts, Louise Yankton, Victoria, Martin, Josephine Black Dog, Melvene Spotted Bird, Carol Spotted Bird, and Viola Drum.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, October 20 at the Cultural Center in Brockton, MT. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 21 at the Cultural Center in Brockton. Interment will follow at the Fort Kipp Cemetery in Fort Kipp, MT.
